Context
A 1031 exchange is a US tax-deferred real-estate swap — and the reports needed to file one are tedious to assemble by hand. PlentiExchange productised that workflow; I led the frontend + integration work for the report generator.
Plenti Financial has since been acquired by Deferred — the site now lives at deferred.com/a/plenti-financial.
What I built
- React frontend on top of a Node.js + .NET backend, MongoDB persistence, deployed on Azure DevOps.
- Redesigned the signup flow with progressive disclosure — cut setup time by ~40%.
- Wired in a referral-link program with HubSpot CRM — drove +30% engagement and +20% business uplift in the quarter after launch.
- Streamlined Azure deploys; reduced resource-mis-provisioning errors by ~15% after introducing pipeline templating.
